Ravi sends Rs.2 b letter of demand to Bandula

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has sent a letter of demand for Rs. 2 billion to Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardena against a remark allegedly made by him during a political TV interview telecast on 18 June.
In the TV programme Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardane had allegedly said that Ravi Karunanayake had deposited in his bank account USD 3 million received from Raj Rajaratnam without obtaining the Central Bank approval.
In his letter of demand Karunanayake stated that the statement was misleading and had caused damage to his reputation.
