S'gamuwa Uni closed indefinitely

The Sabaragamuwa University has been closed indefinitely from 9am today, Vice Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University, Prof. Mahinda S. Rupasinghe said.

He added that the students were not attending lectures since 23rd of February calling for the reinstatement of 58 students who were expelled due to ragging newcomers. All students have been informed to vacate the University hostels by today, Prof. Rupasinghe said.

Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) Convener Sanjeewa Bandara told Daily Mirror that a about 2000 students are currently being surrounded by the anti-riot squad before the university premises. (LP & GS)
