The visibility of Saturn will reach it's zenith in the coming two weeks starting from tomorrow, President of the Sri Lanka Astronomical Association Dr. Kavan Ranatunga said.
He said that Saturn a bright yellow planet with rings will be clearly visible to the naked eye in the Eastern skies after sunset at about 7pm depending on clear sky conditions. Overhead at midnight, before sunrise it’s in the western skies in the morning, he added
While at midnight it can be seen directly over head and that at around 4am it will be visible in the Western skies.
Saturn is 1300 million km away from the Earth during this time period. This phenomenon takes place every year.
Look through binoculars or telescope will show you the rings around Saturn.
