Sri Lanka yesterday held talks with Pakistan on the sequence of security concerns that were emerging in the Asian region, the Army Headquarters said.
Defence ministry secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and visiting Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held discussions about this when they met at the defence ministry in Colombo.
“A brief discussion on matters of international importance and strategic relevance between Mr. Rajapaksa and the Pakistan General,” the army said adding that “the visiting Army Chief gave an enthusiastic hearing to the Mr. Rajapaksa as he narrated the sequence of security concerns that were emerging in the region.”
Currently, General Kayani is on a five-day visit to Sri Lanka.
