Sri Lanka’s central bank said it will allow China’s currency to be used in international transactions at authorized banks.
Permitting the use of the yuan in banking transactions will facilitate trade and investment between the two countries, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka said in a statement released on its website yesterday.
The central bank also allows international banking transactions in 13 other foreign currencies including the U.S. dollar, euro and yen, according to the statement.
