Temple robbed at gun point in Kalthota

A gang of robbers who entered a temple at Puhulyaya in Kalthota had trussed up five Buddhist monks and looted valuable artifacts at gun point early today, the Police said.

They said the robbers entered the temple when a monk opened the doors to go out. The gang had robbed several ancient Ola leaf manuscripts, a brass statue and a mobile phone.

The Police said no one had been identified in connection with the incident. Kalthota Police are investigating.(DS)
