The Railway Control Room said today several long distance trains on the Northern Line have been cancelled because of the train accident which occurred at Potuhera this morning.

As such trains from Colombo to Vavuniya, Pallai, Batticaloa and Trincomalee and trains to Colombo from those destinations have been cancelled.

Railways Superintendent L.A.R. Ratnayake said every effort was being made to resume the train services by tomorrow.(DS)
