TV/Print ads scrutinized

A special “Fraud Intelligence Unit” has been setup to monitor all television and print advertisements for their legitimacy and do the relevant investigations when the necessity arise, SSP Maxi Proctor, Head of the Fraud Investigations Bureau (FIB) told Daily Mirror online.

The Intelligence Unit will create a database regarding advertisement and act as a preventive factor for fraudsters of many varieties who daily dupe the general public using advertisements.

Illegal loans, vehicle sales, land sales, suspicions phone numbers and all kinds’ of suspicious advertisements appearing on print and electronic media will be monitored by the Fraud Investigations Bureau in the future and investigated.

By doing so we intend to reduce the illegal activities which are advertisements based and protect the general public, SSP Maxi Proctor said. (Daily Mirror online)
