The UNP lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Elections (EC) Dayananda Dissanayake, regarding certain incidents that had taken place during the postal voting for the Local Government election today.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told a news conference that its party agents in some areas have not been allowed to enter the locations where the marking of postal votes were taking place.

Daily Mirror learns that the UNP agent had been chased away from the Pallakale Army camp, while another incident had taken place in Yatiyantota Pradeshiya Sabha as well.

Mr. Attanayake said the party had officially informed the Commissioner of Elections about the situation. (Yohan Perera)
