UPFA takes Monaragela

The ruling UPFA has won the General Elections in the Monaragela District by obtaining 120,634 votes and securing 4 seats while the UNP has obtained 28892 votes and secured 1 seat. The Democratic National Alliance secured 9018 votes and did not obtain any seats.

Controversial UNP candidate Madduma Bandara has secured the only seat won by the UNP in the Moneragala District, sources told Daily Mirror online. (JN)
