The Ministry of External Affairs is working closely with the Lankan embassies in Libya , Egypt and the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment to ensure the safety and security of Lankan expatriates. Arrangements have even been made to evacuate them if the necessity arises, the External Affairs Ministry said today.
There are approximately around 1200 Sri Lankans working and residing in Libya currently. But no requests for evacuation have been made yet, External Affairs sources told Daily Mirror online.
