Following the resignation of Susantha Ratnayake as the Chairman of Board of Investment (BOI), the government is currently considering whether to combine the Chairman and Director General positions into one role or continue with the current structure.
Ratnayake stepped down as BOI Chairman after completing one year in the post citing personal reasons.
Under Ratnayake’s leadership, top private sector executive Sanjaya Mohottala, operated as the Director General of the BOI.
According to highly placed sources, a couple of candidates are currently being considered for the BOI Chairman post, including the current Director General Mohottala.
BOI directly falls under the purview of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
