CNN Asia Travel journalist Lilit Marcus was in the country last month, exploring what the island nation has to offer through its innovative ‘bio-bubble’ concept.

During her visit, Marcus shared her experience by documenting her journey on the CNN travel website. Meanwhile, Instagram stories were also shared under the highlight ‘Sri Lanka Takeover’.

In addition to the comprehensive feature on the tourism experience offered by Sri Lanka in the midst of health restrictions, earlier this year CNN also carried an interview with Sri Lanka Tourism Chairperson Kimarli Fernando where the nation’s reopening strategy was highlighted.

Despite the increase of COVID-19 cases and casualties in key source markets, and Sri Lanka itself, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority continues to look for avenues to increase tourism traffic into the country.
