DIMO and SDF officials exchange agreements

DIMO, a leading diversified conglomerate in Sri Lanka, has recently partnered with Sarvodaya Development Finance (SDF) to provide accessibility to high-quality agricultural equipment for small and medium-scale farmers.
The objective of this partnership is to elevate the agriculture industry’s mechanisation to further develop efficiency and productivity.

Through this agreement, SDF will provide special financing options for the STIHL tea pruner and tiller machines.
DIMO represents the STIHL high-quality power tool range backed by German Technology in Sri Lanka. These options provide farmers with easier means of investing in essential equipment without the burden of heavy capital on agriculture machinery. This will help improve the cash flow significantly, allowing farmers to reinvest in crops and other farming requirements. The customers who take advantage of this leasing promotion have to pay an initial payment of 20 percent for tillers and 10 percent for tea pruners.

DIMO Retail Arm COO Rakhita Gunasekera commented, “We are delighted to partner with SDF to introduce modern agricultural equipment to a wider base of farmers. This collaboration aligns with our commitment to supporting the growth of Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector through innovative solutions.”

SDF CEO Nilantha Jayanetti said, “SDF is proud to join hands with DIMO to empower farmers with the necessary tools for enhanced productivity. Our partnership will provide farmers with flexible financial solutions tailored to their specific needs, contributing to the overall development of the agricultural sector.”

SDF’s substantial presence in rural areas and its in-depth knowledge of the financial requirements of the farming community are the reason it was chosen for this partnership. It has demonstrated the same vision and commitment to small and medium-scale farmers offering farmer-friendly financing solutions. Its history of promoting local economic development goes hand-in-hand with DIMO’s purpose of fuelling dreams and aspirations of the communities it serves.

The STIHL tea pruner machine is designed specifically for tea plantations and is used to trim tea bushes after the harvest and the STIHL tiller machine can be used for several kinds of cultivation such as vegetable gardens, paddy fields and row crops. The tiller machine makes even the most challenging and labour-intensive groundwork simple, making it the ideal machine for small to medium-scale farmers and mixed-crop farmers.

There aren’t many vibrations when the worm gear drive is in use and the well-designed curved handlebar can be effortlessly adjusted to the individual body height for easy access to the tiller controls. With the assistance of one reverse gear, two forward gears and intelligent weight distribution, farmers can operate the strong machine with less effort. Thanks to its operating width of 100 cm, the tiller machine can effectively cultivate large areas of fields, plots and plantations. Both machines have cutting-edge technologies installed to guarantee dependable and effective operation.

DIMO provides extensive after-sales services for these machines that include on-site maintenance, availability of original spare parts, service warranties and training courses. This guarantees farmers can get the most out of their investments.

This partnership between DIMO and SDF marks a significant step towards promoting agricultural mechanisation in Sri Lanka and empowering farmers to achieve greater success.
