EDB taps Mangala Wijesinghe as new chief

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) has appointed Mangala Wijesinghe as its new Chairman and CEO. Wijesinghe, who previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Brown and Company PLC, succeeds Dr. Kingsley Bernard in the role.

With more than 25 years of senior management experience across industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, consumer electronics, industrial engineering, and telecommunications, Wijesinghe is recognised for his leadership and focus on operational excellence.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an MBA. Wijesinghe is also a Chartered Professional Manager, adding to his strong credentials in business management and corporate strategy.
