The Export Development Board (EDB) has organised an awareness workshop for manufacturers of Ayurveda, herbal and cosmetic products in an effort to encourage local exports to the wider global market.
The session, designed for exporters and SMEs within the cosmetics industry will take place on November 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the EDB’s office in Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 2.
According to the EDB, the workshop seeks to equip participants with vital insights into the regulatory and technical requirements needed to position their products in international markets.
Key topics covered at the workshop include NMR Narcotic and Psychotropic Substance regulations for cosmetic product registration, Sri Lankan standards for cosmetics and ingredients and the registration process for herbal and Ayurveda products.
Participants will also receive a theoretical background on the technology used in the preparation of herbal cosmetic products.
Moreover, the workshop will also emphasise the role of Sri Lanka Cosmetics Manufacturers Association to highlight its efforts in advancing the cosmetic industry and supporting local manufacturers in meeting international standards.
