First Lak Sathosa opens in Batticaloa district

The first ever Lak Sathosa that opened in the Batticaloa district has netted almost Rs 400000 in its opening day. 


“We are now ready to open 189 new Lak Sathosa branches in the next 10 months,” Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said, opening the 317th Lak Sathosa branch and the first branch in Batticaloa district- at Kalawanchikudi recently. 


“Sathosa is still the main retail giant of Sri Lanka and closest to the consumers,” said Minister Bathiudeen, and added: “The Unity Government aims to better the lives of Sri Lankan consumers. As part of this, we are now ready to open 189 new Lak Sathosa branches in the next 10 months. 


“This will bring the total Lak Sathosa network to 500 by 2017. We are increasing the network to give an efficient service to LAK SATHOSA consumers. To make the network efficient, we are also planning to computerize the entire network. We are also planning to give enhanced services to government servants through Lak Sathosa.”
