Sri Lanka’s MAS Holdings put the island nation under fresh spotlight once again by receiving the ‘most influential’ innovators award in South and South East Asia by Clarivate, a global leader in providing solutions to accelerate the innovation lifecycle.
Ranking amongst top 28 organisations to receive the innovation award, MAS Holdings was one of the six corporates to receive the title.
The awards are based on an analysis of patent volume, citation volume, patent success and the level of globalisation, using patent data from Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) and Derwent Patent Citations Index.
The criteria used to identify the top South and South East Asian innovators closely mirrors that of the annual ‘Derwent Top 100 Global Innovators’ from Clarivate which celebrates the world’s most successful organisations in research and development.
Year 2020 saw 235 organisations from academia, government and the corporate sector identify as the top innovators in South and South East Asia.
Held at the Innovation Forum last week, the annual event which was held online this year, saw leaders from academic, government and industry sectors across the region come together to share best practices and transformational initiatives that accelerate the pace of innovation.
