Nawaloka Hospitals PLC has further cemented its commitment to high standards in patient- centric care by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) in pursuit of facilitating substantial concessions to all government employees under the Agrahara Medical Insurance scheme.
The MoU was officiated between the Director/General Manager of Nawaloka Hospitals PLC Prof. Lal Chandrasena, and the NITF Chief Executive Officer Gamani N. Liyanarachchi, during a ceremony held recently.
The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of several key figures representing both institutions. NITF was represented by NITF Chairperson Sagala Abhayawickrama, Samil Thushara (AGM Operations), Nimali Pathirana (AGM Insurance), Prathibha Welikanna (Asst. Manager Legal), and Dammika Weerakoon (Acting AGM Finance).
Nawaloka Hospitals PLC was represented by Head of Marketing Rasika Thilakarathne, and Assistant Manager Corporate Relations Dulana Galappatthy.
This strategic partnership is set to deliver significant healthcare benefits and access to Nawaloka Hospitals PLC’s comprehensive services to all NITF Agrahara members. It marks a pivotal milestone in Nawaloka Hospital’s ongoing efforts to forge long-term collaborations that benefit the broader community.
The agreement further affirms Nawaloka Hospitals’ standing as a trusted healthcare provider, making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable, while enhancing the living standards of public service employees.
“We believe that the strategic partnership between Nawaloka Hospitals PLC and the National Insurance Trust Fund would benefit state sector employees by enabling them to access a range of medical facilities at substantial concessionary rates. Given the invaluable service rendered to the nation by our state sector employees, it is an honour to pay tribute to them by ensuring quality healthcare benefits for all Agrahara members”, Nawaloka Hospitals PLC Director/General Manager Prof. Lal Chandrasena stated.
The agreement brings in a cashless admission process for NITF members at Nawaloka Hospitals, simplifying access to the hospital’s services without upfront payments. Agrahara members will have their admission fees waived, significantly reducing the financial burden of medical care. In addition, Agrahara members will receive substantial discounts on room rates and exclusive discounts on outpatient (OP) and inpatient (IP) services, including various medical procedures as laboratory investigations, interventional radiology, heart-related diagnostics, open bypass surgeries, etc. The MoU also guarantees free ambulance services for NITF members, ensuring convenient access to medical care.
The NITF Agrahara scheme is one of Sri Lanka’s largest health insurance programmes for state sector employees. As a government-sponsored initiative, Agrahara provides critical financial support for medical expenses, ensuring that public sector employees and their families can access necessary healthcare services without incurring significant out-of-pocket costs, thereby safeguarding their well-being and financial security during times of medical need.
