People’s Bank has been recognised yet again at the renowned Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2024, marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s continued journey towards gender equality in the workplace.
This is the fourth consecutive year where People’s Bank was honoured as one of Sri Lanka’s top women-friendly workplaces at the Satynmag, AICPA and CIMA Women Friendly Workplace Awards, which demonstrates the bank’s persistent commitment to providing a friendly and inclusive environment for its female employees.
Since its start in 2021, the Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards, powered by AICPA and CIMA, have recognised firms that excel at promoting gender equality. The awards have become a beacon of progress, highlighting organisations that not only campaign for women’s rights but also actively implement strategies that promote their professional development, work-life balance and general well-being.

People’s Bank, named one of the Top Ten Winners for 2024, shows best practices for fostering gender inclusion and establishing a culture that values and respects female employees. The bank’s initiatives, which range from leadership development programmes to mentorship opportunities and a secure, inclusive workplace, set a high bar for the sector. With over 60 percent female representation throughout the organisation, People’s Bank continues to be dedicated to supporting women in advancing their careers across various banking sectors.

“We feel that supporting our female employees is not only the proper thing to do but also necessary for our organisation’s success,” stated People’s Bank Chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse.

“Creating a safe and conducive environment for women to perform to their full potential is a continuous initiative at People’s Bank and one that has paid rich dividends in terms of superior productivity,” stated People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka.
