Plans underway for Rs. 3bn facility complex at Ratmalana Airport

The Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) has called for bids to construct a state-of-the-art airport facility complex at the Ratmalana Airport. 

The project, aimed at modernising the airport’s infrastructure, is estimated to cost Rs. 3.979 billion with a projected construction period of 540 days.

The bids were called by a Standing Cabinet-Appointed Procurement Committee on behalf of Airport & Aviation Services. 

As per the notice, the bidding process will be conducted under the National Competitive Bidding Procedure.

To be eligible, bidders must not be blacklisted and must be registered under Grade CS2 (Building Construction) with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA). Parties are also required to have prior experience in executing similar large-scale projects.

Interested parties can obtain bidding documents from the Supply Chain Management Division of Airport & Aviation Services by submitting a written request and a non-refundable fee of Rs. 300,000. 

The completed bids accompanied by an unconditional bid security of Rs. 62 million must be submitted by December 27, 2024. 

The bid security can be provided in the form of cash or a demand bid bond issued by any institution listed in the relevant clause of the bidding documents.
