The origin of Senaratne Insurance Brokers dates back to September 14, 1979, from which date they have been providing risk transfer insurance solutions, largely to Corporates, operating in Sri Lanka.

This Company’s high level of professionalism was recognised by the Chartered Insurance Institute, when in 2017 it was awarded the “Corporate Chartered Insurance Broker” status, under empowerment of the Privy Council in Britain, which, after evaluation afresh each year, stands undented to-date.  This is the internationally recognised Gold Standard for Insurance Brokers, publicly committed to a “customer first - approach” and, values that align with a professional code of ethics.

“Corporate Chartered Status” is steeped in history, and remains the benchmark of professional excellence and integrity. In practice, these Brokers provide knowledge-based insurance solutions to meet each client’s needs, and towards this end, adherence to professional development by the customer-facing staff is a pre-requisite. It is commendable to record that Senaratne Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd is the only such institution to have been honoured with Corporate Chartered Status in the whole of South Asia as well as Central Asia.

This Company handles all classes of life and General Insurance.  Apart from placement of cost-effective insurance covers, best designed to protect the interests of prospective clients, they have on offer, a plethora of other services such as portfolio analysis, risk management, claim recovery guidance, fee-based consultancy etc.

Senaratne Insurance Brokers enjoy the distinction of being the Sri Lanka partner of the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN) which is globally, the largest fully integrated network of independent property & casualty insurance brokers. It is also the first Company in Sri Lanka to have been investigated by Lloyds of London and appointed in 1988 as “Lloyds Correspondents” with “Cover Holder” status although, this facility remained unexploited by reason of the local Insurance Industry Regulations in force.

The Board of Directors include as many as three Chartered Insurance Professionals, with collective insurance experience of more than 130 years!
