Sinopec begins fuel retailing operations in Sri Lanka

Sinopec Lanka, a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), has officially commenced business operations in Sri Lanka. The company this week started supplying fuel at its first franchising filling station in Mattegoda.


Sinopec Lanka has been granted a 20-year license to operate 150 fuel stations. The company plans to progressively hand over all 150 filling stations to its management before October.
As part of its market promotion measures, Sinopec Lanka is offering a pump discount of Rs.3.00 per litre for petrol and diesel.
