The 10th edition of Sancharaka Udawa, Sri Lanka’s largest travel and tourism fair, kicked off yesterday, bringing together industry officials and professionals on a single platform.
The event, organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO), is taking place after a hiatus of three years.
Sancharaka Udawa 2023 is held over two days, May 19 and 20, at the BMICH and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event features 250 exhibitors and it facilitates the stakeholders to engage with government authorities.
The key objective of Sancharaka Udawa 2023 is to pave the way for small and medium-scale tourism service providers to establish links with tour operators and enter the wide spectrum of the tourism sector.
The expected benefit will be a substantial increase in bookings to the small-time tourism service providers in the region, the SLAITO said.
The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
