Sri Lanka’s advertising and marketing industry is set to receive a significant boost as MullenLowe Sri Lanka gears up to host a high-profile digital marketing workshop.

Titled ‘Beyond Digital & Social Media’, the exclusive training programme, which will be held on 28 November at the Courtyard by Marriot, aims to address a critical gap in the local industry’s understanding and application of digital marketing.

Emphasising the need for such an initiative, MullenLowe Group – Sri Lanka Executive Chairman Thayalan Bartlett said, ”Digital is perhaps the most abused term in the local advertising space, misleading brands about the medium’s true potential.”

“Our Full Stack Digital Suite (FSDS) integrates every step in the digital journey to deliver effective commerce outcomes. This workshop is designed to equip marketers with a comprehensive understanding of digital marketing’s current and future landscape and its potential for transforming Sri Lanka’s business sector.”

The all-day session will feature two globally renowned experts; Interpublic Group (IPG) - New York Global Creative Commerce Lead Roald van Wyk, and Lowe Lintas India Global Creative Commerce Lead Vaseem Edroos.

Van Wyk, with over 28 years of experience in brand advertising, marketing, and strategy, has built a reputation for integrating brand storytelling with high-performance marketing strategies. His international career has spanned cities such as Madrid, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Oslo, Amsterdam, and Cape Town giving him a unique global perspective that informs his approach to marketing innovation.

Edroos brings expertise in digital transformation and new technology adoption, having worked with major international brands like Hindustan Unilever, Tata Motors, and Whirlpool. His emphasis on aligning brand planning with technological innovation highlights a critical area where Sri Lanka lags behind.

Participants will receive firsthand insights on local insights, global trends, practical frameworks, privacy-compliant audience targeting, and interactive ideation.

“With practical strategies and innovative frameworks, this programme is set to spark the change Sri Lankan businesses need to lead in this new era,” said Dr. Sohan Dharmaraja who heads LoweTech, the group’s MarTech arm.
