The Capital Goods sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to Hayleys and John Keells Holdings) whilst the sector index gained 2.41%. The share price of Hayleys increased by Rs. 2.50 (2.43%) to close at Rs. 105.50. The share price of John Keells Holdings moved up by Rs 6.50 (3.20%) to close at Rs. 209.50.
The Banking sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover (due to Sampath Bank and Hatton National Bank) whilst the sector index increased by 1.42%.
