VFS Global launches extensive tourism promotion for SL

VFS Global has initiated a comprehensive tourism promotion campaign, aimed at boosting Sri Lanka’s appeal to the international visitors.

According to the visiting senior VFS Global official, the campaign is rolled out on the print, online and social media platforms, targeting the key markets crucial to Sri Lanka tourism. 

Notably, a full-page advertisement recently appeared in The Times of India, as the neighbouring giant is the largest tourist traffic generator for the island nation.

“VFS is a global network and has a position of neutrality. Because we are not travel agents, we don’t sell products. We run a dedicated tourism services division that only focuses on tourism marketing on behalf of tourism boards. We do this for the other countries we are in and so doing it for Sri Lanka as well,” the official said.

Although specific financial details were not disclosed, the official highlighted that the investment committed to these promotional efforts are “quite significant”.

The representative shared that while the initial phase is underway, VFS Global is already planning the next stages, which are pending approval.
