AMW Senior Manager Sales and Marketing Nimal S. Ratnayake, addressing the award winners, their families and the top management of AMW said 2014 has been a very special year for the company.

“Our tyre retreading department recorded a remarkable sales growth of 30 percent in 2014. The secret behind this achievement was enhancement of our dealer network by 20 percent and the dedication of those dealers. In 2014, AMW has introduced new products to its product-mix. In addition, we were able to launch a fresh and innovative sales promotional campaign in the same year which has contributed towards the increase of tyre retreading and pneumatic tyre sales,” said Ratnayake.

Marathon DAG and Marathon Radial Tyres secured the biggest market share in the local marketplace for DAG tyres in 2014 due to the promotions carried out by AMW. Similarly, the quality of OTR Tyre was enhanced using modern technology and that too contributed towards the increase of the market share. In addition, AMW catered to the tyre requirement of the local marketplace by introducing DAG tyres for folk lifts and roller machines.

Ratnayake invited his dealer-team to strive with more dedication to secure the market leadership position the company enjoys also in 2015.

AMW Director Manufacturing Pushpika Janadheera said AMW’s annual dealer awards ceremony and get-together is one event that all tyre sales agents look forward to with much anticipation. The awards presentation opens doors for tyre sales agents to meet up and enjoy with their families once a year.

“We maintain freshness of this event by adding more colour and entertainment each year. In the present context in our country a significant growth is not shown in overall DAG tyre sales. Yet, the dedication of our tyre dealers and AMW sales team marked a growth in sales of AMW Precured tyres. We will introduce several new products to our product-line this year. Your businesses will flourish with these products. I am happy to announce our tyres are exported to more than 15 foreign countries now,” said Janadheera.

AMW Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapakse, who was the chief guest, said a company is dependent on its dealer network for the sale of its products. He said he is proud to be associated with the tyre retreading dealers and their families at least once a year in this manner.

“AMW is the number one automotive company in this country. We will diversify our products in the near future and that will open more employment opportunities to the youth of this country,” said Rajapakse.

AMW manufactures Precured tyre brands Marathon DAG, Marathon Radial, Marathon Hi-Miler, aDag and OTR and pneumatic tyre brands Epic Trimax and Power-max three-wheeler tyres, Ace-Max 155x12, Far-Max 600x12 and Soli-Max solid tyres. Further, the company has the know-how and ability to retread tyres to suit any rim-size.
