HR specialist Dinesh Weerakkody launched his fifth book titled “The Great November Revolution” in the presence of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday.

The story of this book is about how civic-minded citizens, regardless of their party colour, got together with that singleness of purpose, to bring back good governance and fair play into the administration.

Among others who attended the event were ministers, politicians, clergy, diplomats and business leaders.

Weerakkody says in the preface that “The November Revolution” is a very inspiring account of what happened between August 7, 2014 and January 9, 2015, never told beforehand inscrutably unimaginable.

He says it highlights the courage of a handful of people. With the book, Weerakkody says he wants to salute those political and non-political heroes who risked their future for the larger interest of society.

The book is around 150+ pages and is structured into three sections. The first section, which comprises five parts, is Weerakkody’s account of the silent revolution.

The second section includes Ranil Wickremesinghe’s and Maithripala Sirisena’s meetings with the private sector before and after the elections and the final section comprises the annexures and the references list that support the story in the book.

The book is priced at Rs.1, 000 and will be available in the bookstores from the first week of December. All proceeds of the sale of books will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation.
