Govindasamy re-elected as Indo-Lanka Chamber President

Watawala Plantations Group Managing Director Vish Govindasamy was re-elected as the President of the Ceylon Chamber-led Indo-Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ILCCI) at its seventh Annual General Meeting held last Friday in Colombo.

In the meantime, Romesh David, President – Transportation Group of John Keells Holdings PLC and ICICI Bank Country Head Biju Jacob are the two Vice Presidents of the chamber. Carson Cumberbatch PLC Group Director Deshamanya Mano Selvanathan remains as the Immediate Past President.

The current committee of ILCCI comprises firms such as Associated Motorways, represented by Samantha Rajapaksa, Managing Director of the firm; Bharti Airtel Lanka Private Limited represented by Suren Goonewardene, CEO/Managing Director; Carson Cumberbatch and Company Limited represented by Deshabandu Tilak De Zoysa, Chairman of the company; Hirdaramani Group of Companies represented by Vinod Hirdaramani, a Director of the firm; and Lanka IOC PLC, which is represented by Shyam Bohra, Managing Director of the entity; while Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC is represented by Sanjay Tiwari, President and the Executive Director of the firm.

The Commerce Department Director General and Indian High Commission First Secretary Economic and Commercial are also members of the committee.
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is the secretaries to the ILCCI.
