The CMA Global Management Accounting Summit on the theme ‘Business Resilience Through Integrated Reporting’ will be held from July 27 to 29, at Cinnamon Lakeside.

The supporting institutions at this international event will be the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This will be a high-level summit on integrated reporting held for the first time in Sri Lanka.

As set out in the International Framework, an integrated report is a concise communication about how an organisation’s strategy, governance, performance and prospects, in the context of its external environment, lead to the creation of value in the short, medium and long term. The framework enables a business to bring these elements together through the concept of ‘connectivity of information’, to best tell an organisation’s value creation story.

The highlights at the Global Summit will be the presence of the President of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Olivia Kirtley, who will deliver the keynote address at the Global Summit on the topic ‘Accountancy Profession – Deepening the engagement with Integrated Thinking and Reporting’.

IFAC is the global organisation for the accounting profession and comprises 175 members and associates in 130 countries and jurisdictions representing 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government, industry and commerce.

The IIRC is a global coalition of regulators, investors, companies, standard setters, the accounting profession and NGOs. The coalition is promoting communication about value creation as the next step in the evolution of corporate reporting. The IIRC is chaired by Professor Mervyn King and Paul Druckman is the Chief Executive Officer.

The IIRC will be represented by Michael Nugent Technical Director who will address the Global Summit on ‘The complete architecture of the Integrated Reporting and its current state of evolution’.

GRI is an international independent organisation that helps businesses, governments and other organisations understand and communicate the impact of business on critical sustainability issues such as climate change, human rights, corruption and many others.

At the Global Summit Dr. Aditi Haldar, Director GRI Focal Point India, will speak on ‘GRI and Sustainability Reporting to Migrate to Integrated reporting’.
