For depicting a truth that rings true for every Sri Lankan in a concise, creative and memorable way, J. Walter Thompson Colombo was awarded TV Advertising Gold at the Anchor Sumathi Awards 2015 held recently.

The ‘Loved Ones’ television commercial for Commercial Credit tugs on your heartstrings as a beautifully crafted and sweet story, but resonates on an even deeper level – it captures the evermore complex family dynamics that exist in our society today.

The commercial unravels like a poignant slice of life, portraying an ambitious and hard-working father who is oblivious to the little daughter who craves his attention. It addresses an ever-present conundrum for parents when it comes to their children – perhaps sacrifice bonding moments and work tirelessly for the greater security of the family, or dedicate more time and attention to their children at the cost of a better financial future.

CEO of J Walter Thompson, Alyna Haji Omar said, “ We are very proud of our partnership with Commercial Credit and believe that the success of brand stems from a true spirit of collaboration and trust.”

Celebrating their success, Shammi Jayathilake, Head of Marketing, Commercial Credit said, “This entire concept makes you pause for a moment and think of what you may be missing out on in life. It’s about the relationships we take for granted. And how simple acts of love can bring you priceless joy. Also, this creativity is a good example of a great relationship between a client and their agency.”

The award-winning team of J Walter Thompson comprised of Joy Chauhan, Chandini Rajaratnam, Suminda Gamage, Shihan Wickramasinghe, Amanda Aluvihare, Fathima Farzana Nilam, Dinesh Maheshwaran, Subhash Rao, Dinali Forbes and Lihini Nandasena who worked very closely with the Commercial Credit marketing team and Sky Productions to develop the 30-second film directed by Prasanna Jayakody.
