SLI MD Bangsa Jayah appointed to Dockyard board

Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) Managing Director T.M.R. Bangsa Jayah has been appointed to the board of Colombo Dockyard PLC, a unit of Japan’s Onomichi Dockyard.

As provided by the Articles of Association of Colombo Dockyard, Sri Lanka Insurance Assistant General Manager-Investments Upul Dhanuka Liyanagamage acts as alternate director to Bangsa Jayah.

The appointments were formally accepted by the members of the Colombo Dockyard board effective from April 20, 2015, a stock exchange filing said.
Sri Lanka Insurance through its Life and General funds hold a 10 percent stake in Colombo Dockyard.

Bangsa Jayah is a retired Commissioned Police Officer who has experience in the Police service for 29 years.

He also has experience in construction industry for more than 15 years and has a been a principal partner in a well-known piling company.

Dhanuka Liyanagamage is an electrical engineer with first class honours from the University of Moratuwa and holds an MBA in Finance from University of Colombo. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Prior to joining Sri Lanka Insurance, he was employed as a financial analyst at the Employees’ Provident Fund and also at MAS Active Private Limited. He counts over 10 years of experience in the finance and investment industry.

Liyanagamage also serves as an alternate director representing Sri Lanka Insurance at Ceybank Asset Management Ltd.
