Yamaha and Singer, two of the world’s top brand names, have come together in a retail collaboration in Sri Lanka to enhance access to a select range of musical instruments and home theatre systems.
A milestone agreement formalised at a colourful and musical launch in Colombo recently paves the way for Singer Sri Lanka to be designated a ‘Mega Retailer’ for musical instruments and home theatre equipment from Yamaha Music Centre, which has represented the Yamaha brand in Sri Lanka for 93 years.
Consequently, a range of Yamaha portable keyboards, guitars, a recorder and a home theatre system will be available at 16 Singer Mega stores in Sri Lanka, catering to students and music enthusiasts seeking high quality music products.
The launch of the new collaboration which took effect on Thursday, 1st October 2015, was preceded by a training programme by two experts from Yamaha Japan for staff of the Singer Mega outlets, and included the unveiling of a new Yamaha display unit that will be featured at these outlets.
Addressing the event, Singer Sri Lanka Director Marketing & Commercial Mahesh Wijeywardene said his company is happy to be a retail partner for a premium brand of musical instruments like Yamaha, which has become the preferred choice of the majority of users in Sri Lanka due to the quality of the products and the efforts of the Yamaha Music Centre.
The Yamaha products that will initially be retailed at Singer Mega outlets include the brand’s Educational Suite series of keyboards, acoustic guitars, an entry level soprano recorder much in demand among school children and a home theatre system.
“The collaboration with Singer Sri Lanka significantly strengthens our retail presence in the market, enabling larger numbers of music enthusiasts to experience the quality and technological superiority of Yamaha musical instruments and Home Audio Systems,” said Rajiv Caderamanpulle, Director of the Yamaha Music Centre. “We are delighted with this collaboration.”
The Yamaha Music Centre is currently the only music store in the country offering customers world class musical instruments, home audio, pro audio and studio recording equipment under one roof.
