The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and government of Sri Lanka signed this week a loan agreement totalling US $ 100 million.
US $ 50 million is to provide the small and medium-sized enterprises in Sri Lanka more access to finance and build their resilience to external shocks such as the economic crisis and climate change, while the other US $ 50 million will be used to issue partial credit guarantees through the National Credit
Guarantee Institution.
Finance Ministry Treasury Secretary K.M. Mahinda Siriwardana signed on behalf of the government of Sri Lanka and ADB Sri Lanka Resident Mission Deputy Country Director Utsav Kumar signed on behalf
of the ADB.
