Ladies of BMICH/BCIS and outsourced staff with chief guest Shiromal Cooray, guest of honour Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake and BMICH/BCIS leadership teams
The BMICH, Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark, organised a special programme for its lady staff members to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
It was to acknowledge the significant contribution made by the ladies of the BMICH/BCIS staff to make the institution the most service-oriented and award-winning organisation in Sri Lanka.
“We are delighted to have a strong and dedicated lady workforce at the BMICH/BCIS, who contribute to our successes on a daily basis and we admire their courage and dedication to help achieve our goals. The BMICH has a unique affiliation with women, with two of Sri Lanka’s leading personalities – the late Sirimavo Bandaranaike being the first female Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and globally and who was also the founding Chairperson of the BMICH and former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, the first female Executive President of Sri Lanka, who is the current Chairperson of the BMICH Board of Management, both being of iconic significance to our country as well as globally,” said BMICH Chief Executive Sunil Dissanayake.
Jetwing Travels Chairman/Managing Director Shiromal Cooray was hosted as the chief guest to deliver a talk on her career progression as a woman, the obstacles she faced and how she overcame them to reach the pinnacle of her career.
Indira Cancer Trust Chairperson Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake spoke about awareness, detection and prevention of breast cancer and associated treatment and counselling services.
