GroupM announced that Namalie Herath, CEO Wavemaker Sri Lanka is taking over the role of Managing Partner
An alumna of the University of Colombo, Namalie started her career at J Walter Thompson Sri Lanka, She was instrumental in launching MEC in Sri Lanka, and then went on to head Wavemaker when the 2 entities, MEC & Maxus, were merged.
She has been a board member of the IAA (International Advertising Association). She has been leading her team to win multiple awards both international and local along with her many other accomplishments.
Namalie will be reporting to Sriram Sharma, Senior Vice President – Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Marketing South Asia.
On the appointment, Prasanth Kumar, CEO GroupM South Asia said, “Namalie has been a great team player at Wavemaker and has contributed immensely to the agency. Sri Lanka is a key market for us, and I am certain that she will continue to build on the momentum with the same zest and I wish her the very best for her new role.”

GroupM Sri Lanka also announced that Sabry Haniz, Chief Operating Officer of GroupM Sri Lanka is moving on from his position at GroupM Sri Lanka. Sabry has been with the GroupM family for more than 20 years in various roles.
