Cabinet nod has been given to kick off the proposed national project to provide opportunities to new entrepreneurs for business development, a move that will uplift the SME sector in the country
The Cabinet of Ministers approved this week the proposal put forward by the Ministry of Industries to construct small-scale industrial zones and medium-scale industrial zones on a 5-15 acre plot, and on 15-25 acre land.
The small-scale industrial zone will be developed to hold about 15 to 35 factories, whereas the medium-scale industrial zone will accommodate about 35 to 50 factories.
A national committee and a district steering committee will be appointed in collaboration with the Ministry of Industries to implement and supervise the projects.
The 2022 budget proposed the acceleration of the local industrialization process by localizing the existing industrialization program and establishing industrial zones at the regional and district levels.
