Sri Tourism has earned high media mileage at the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai as the pavilion has been successful in obtaining over US$ 124,000 worth of media coverage showcasing the island nation as a tourist destination.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) shared with the local media today that the Sri Lanka pavilion has so far been featured on electron, print, and online platforms such as; CNN Arabia, CNBC, SKY, Dubai TV, Abu Dhabi TV, Sharjah TV, Khaleej Times, and several other magazines and newspapers in the last two months.

The SLTDA attributed the success achieved so far to the efforts of eight government agencies; Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau, Export Development Board (EDB), Ceylon Tea Board, National Gem, and Jewellery Authority, Laksala, SriLankan Airlines, Port City, and Board of Investment (BOI).

While Sri Lanka tourism leads the Expo 2020 Dubai by placing a touristic perspective as the core focus in the presentations, the Port City and the BOI are assigned to drive investment promotions and establish connectivity at the global event.

Coming up next at the Sri Lanka Pavilion is the ‘Wedding Fantasy’ where on 21 December Sri Lanka will be promoted and showcased as an attractive wedding destination.

On 24 December, renowned author Sybil Wetasinghe’s book ‘Sun and Rain a Fox’s Wedding’ will be featured at the Children’s Book Reading session.
