Sri Lanka will open its airports for both local and foreign air travelers from by end January after over 10 months of closure, the Ministry of Aviation announced today.
Having closed the airports to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Ministry said that the government hopes to carry out the duties of the offices and institutions according to health and safety precautions, getting in line with the 'new normal’.
In a statement to the media yesterday, the Ministry said that Sri Lanka will learn from countries that have already started welcoming tourists and opening their airports.
