Sri Lanka’s largest Electronic Vehicle (EV) charging network, ChargeNET, has partnered with India’s EV COSMOS to extend smart electric charging solutions across the neighboring giant.
The company, a subsidiary of Codegen International UK, is targeting to establish 500 charging stations with an installed capacity of 50MW in the next two years.
The two companies entered into an MOU recently to expand EV charging facilities in India.
According to Codegen International Group CEO Dr. Harsha Subasinghe, the entity, also the sister company of Vega Innovations that unveiled South Asia’s first electric supercar this year, will provide IoT enabled Fast Charging Solutions on strategic locations in cities, highways and hotels among others, where EVs would be charged in 15-30 minutes.
In a statement to the media, he shared that ChargeNET is also looking to integrate solar power into the charging stations, an effort towards ensuring ‘Clean and Green Technologies for a Sustainable Future’, the company’s motto.
Meanwhile, EV COSMOS India Managing Director Pramod Geetey highlighted that the partnership will help make strong forays into B to B and B to C segments of EV charging solutions.
“Our focus will be to create a sustainable EV ecosystem in India by way of providing EV charging solutions that are easy to reach for everyone”, he said.
