The COVID-19 pandemic has been an extraordinary challenge to us all. But the pandemic has also helped businesses understand the increasing need to adapt and adjust, apart from embracing agility in these uncertain times.

The pandemic has not only dealt a massive blow to some of the most successful business empires, but it has also helped transform smaller businesses into successful ventures, because they chose to look past the challenges.

Therefore, on the occasion of the 56th Annual Report Awards Competition, we look to honour organisations which have successfully swerved through a maze of challenges, while continuing to embrace the vital pillars which are transparency, good governance, and social responsibility among businesses, both big and small.

Since its launch in 1964, the Annual Reports Awards Competition has been a pioneer in helping the corporate sector boost transparency, good governance, and social responsibility. Today, the competition is acknowledged as one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated corporate awards, which has set an important benchmark by promoting companies to produce annual reports which are of exceptional quality.

As the sole authority in promulgating Accounting and Auditing Standards in the country, CA Sri Lanka has taken steps to ensure companies in Sri Lanka adhere to the necessary internationally laid accounting standards, with the ultimate aim of stabilising our country’s economy.

All the companies which have participated in the competition has no doubt demonstrated their commitment towards best practices in annual reporting.

Congratulations to this year’s winners!
