SINGER (Sri Lanka) PLC won the Gold Award at the Annual Report Awards 2020/21, received under the trading category. In its continuing determination to crown the most brilliant financial reports produced in the country, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) conducted the prestigious Annual Report Awards held recently.

Commenting on this achievement, Group CEO Mr. Mahesh Wijewardene said, “We always strive to lead with respect, demonstrate responsibility, integrity, along with reliability, improve our performance, innovate passionately, collaborate for success, respond with agility and drive sustainability. The disruptions and unprecedented uncertainty presented by the COVID-19 pandemic rendered the year under review the most difficult period, the aftershocks of which are likely to endure for the coming year and beyond. Against this backdrop, the tenacity and enterprising spirit of “Team Singer” propelled our organization to be bold and agile in a challenging social and macroeconomic environment. Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC also underwent a rebranding exercise of a massive scale to transform the consumer durables behemoth into a future-ready entity as they also continue to focus on “Must-Win Battles" which covers their strategic initiatives. These strategies have worked out for them and are demonstrated through their resilient performance during these challenging times. They aim to show consumers that the brand is future-proof and responsible.

The Annual Report of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC for the year 2020/21 adopts the Global Reporting Initiatives 2020 guidelines and covers the economic, social, and environmental performance for the year ended 31st March 2021. The Annual Report 2020/21 covers the 12 months from 1st April 2020 to 31st March 2021. This period is consistent with the company’s usual reporting cycle for financial and sustainability reporting.
