A Buddhist flag 1,000 feet in length is being taken by villagers from Kadahapola at Narammala to be offered at the Sri Maha Bodhi for the 'Kap Ruk Puja' to seek blessings and peace for Sri Lanka. They began the walk on April 21 and are expected to arrive at the Sri Maha Bodhi on April 29. The villagers are hoping that some 5,000 devotees will join them on the way to Anuradhapura.
