Three aircraft (Air Tractors) owned by an Australian company arrived at the Colombo International Airport Ratmalana (CIAR) on Saturday (4) from Cocos Island-West Island Airport, Australia, Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL) said.
They said the aircraft departed for Oman International Airport yesterday (5).
The AASL said these aircraft are to be kept on standby every summer in Europe for possible bush fires in the country. Now these aircraft are positioned in Turkey.
AASL’s ground handling team provided all basic ground handling services. Aircraft of this nature select CIAR types of airports for technical stops purely for convenience and lower affordable ground handling rates.
With these kinds of operations, the country will be able to get a total revenue of approximately US$ 12,000.
