State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, accompanied by the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security Sagala Rathnayake praised the services rendered by Sri Lanka Army troops during his maiden visit to the Army Headquarters situated in Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage warmly received the visiting high officials on their arrival and they were invited for a cordial interaction with the senior officers and troops serving at the Army Headquarters during the session. Ensuing the exchange of pleasantries, Lt. Gen. Liyanage presented mementos to the State Minister and the Chief of Staff to the President to symbolize the first visit and as a gesture of goodwill.Senior Army officers including the Chief of Staff and troops were present at the occasion.
