South Asia’s largest food processing factory opens

One of the largest food processing factories in South Asia was opened today at the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone (IPZ).

The food processing factory is owned by a local businessman with an investment of Rs.1.5 billion. 

The factory is established aiming to meet 10% of the international market requirement for meat-related products. The factory is located on a three-acre land in IPZ at Katunayake.

Several Parliamentarians including Namal Rajapaksa, Shasheendra Rajapaksa, Kanchana Wijesekera, D.V Chanaka, Arundika Fernando and Siripala Gampalth participated in the opening ceremony. (T.K.G. Kapila)
