Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe held discussions with United Nations Resident Coordinator Hanaa Singer-Hamdy yesterday (7) to finalise plans regarding the UN's Global Humanitarian Appeal for Sri Lanka.
The UN will focus on raising nearly $48m in four months to help ensure adequate food and medicine for the Sri Lankan public.
It's planned that $34.5m will be set aside for agriculture and food security, $8m for health focussing on women and children and $4.8m for the protection of children including the provision of 1 meal for school children.
