A book donation ceremony was held today with Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa and Minister of Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara present at the event.

Young Fidel Castro from Jaffna College in Vadukkadai read out a letter to Mr. Nanayakkara at the ceremony a summary of what he read out is as follows: “Our village is in tatters today due to the war. There are many people who we know who were killed during fighting. Now we have peace and all what we ask of is for you Sir, to bridge the divide between the north and the south. Please convey our message to our President. We want him to talk to our Tamil leaders and make sure that we live together in peace. Please use your ministry to take away the language barrier that exists between the north and the south. We wish you long life.” (Pix by Pradeep Pathirana)
