Sri Lanka Navy today assisted in the exchange of Indian and Sri Lanka fishermen released in accordance with the discussions between the two governments. Fifty-one Indian fishermen were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Vishvath” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurei. Fifty-two Sri Lankan fishermen were taken over from the Indian authorities in exchange. Sri Lanka Navy Ship “Shakthi” assisted by Sri Lanka Coast Guard vessels, “CG 43” and “CG 46” was deployed for the humanitarian mission.
